HARRISBURG—Silver Spring Township in Cumberland County has been granted a Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF) grant for road improvements along Main Street at the Village of New Kingstown, as announced by Rep. Thomas Kutz (R-87) and Sen. Greg Rothman (R-34) on March 26, 2024.

“Cumberland County is full of great communities in which to live, work and raise a family, and its population is among the fastest growing in the Commonwealth,” said Rep. Kutz. “I was glad to advocate for this project, which invests state dollars in an expanding community to improve roadways for current and future residents of New Kingstown.”

“Ensuring the safety of motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists on our roadways is important,” added Sen. Rothman. “This project will improve safety for all who travel in and around New Kingstown.”

The funding for these grants was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), an independent agency responsible for funding programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth.

The grant is a testament to the commitment of the state government to enhance infrastructure and ensure the safety and convenience of residents in growing communities like New Kingstown.
