State Representative Barb Gleim has been appointed as a deputy chair of the House Republican Policy Committee for the 2025-26 Legislative Session. The appointment was made by the committee's chairman, Rep. David Rowe.

Gleim expressed her gratitude for the appointment and outlined her focus on education. "I appreciate Chairman Rowe asking me to serve in this capacity," she stated. She emphasized her experience in education, having served on the House Education Committee for six years and currently leading a national education task force.

She is eager to engage with parents and students across the state to understand their expectations from the education system. "Parents know what’s best for their children," Gleim remarked, adding that legislators should act as their voice in Harrisburg to provide students with necessary tools and choices.

The House Republican Policy Committee plays a crucial role by conducting hearings both in Harrisburg and throughout communities statewide. It gathers testimony from stakeholders and collaborates with other members of the House Republican Caucus to develop policy initiatives.

Gleim highlighted the significance of ensuring that taxpayer money spent on education yields positive results. "Since education funding is a large portion of our state budget through taxpayers’ hard-earned dollars, it is important to make sure there is a return on their investment," she said.

Representative Barbara Gleim serves Pennsylvania's 199th Legislative District, with Scott Little serving as her media contact at 717-260-6137.
