Rep. Thomas Kutz (R-Cumberland) has announced the approval of $3.7 million in grant funding for projects in the 87th Legislative District. The grants, provided by the Local Share Account (LSA) and Public School Facility Improvement (PSFIG) programs, were approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.

“Cumberland County is among the fastest-growing counties in the Commonwealth, and our existing infrastructure needs to be improved or expanded upon to accommodate new residents,” said Kutz. “I proudly support the awards for the following projects, which make key investments in the community for current and future constituents. I am excited to see the impact of these diverse projects once they are completed.”

The LSA grants include $101,840 for Silver Spring Township to renovate Junkin House into a museum, $600,000 for constructing a new public works building in Silver Spring Township due to its high growth rate, $148,225 for Greenlight Operation's restoration house aiding human trafficking victims, $90,000 for South Middleton Township Municipal Authority's water and sewer improvements, and $457,466 for Lower Allen Township's Peyton Walker Foundation to purchase Automated External Defibrillators as part of its 4-Minute City Initiative.

The PSFIG grants comprise $330,000 for Cumberland Perry Area Career and Technology Center's HVAC system replacement, $1 million each for Mechanicsburg Area Middle School's HVAC cooling system improvement and Boiling Springs High School's window replacement and internet connectivity enhancements.

Kutz collaborated with Sens. Greg Rothman (R-34) and Mike Regan (R-31) to secure this funding.

“These infrastructure, public works and preservation projects are important to our community,” Rothman stated. “I am pleased that so many residents will benefit from the grant funding authorized today.”

Questions about these grants can be directed to Kutz’s office at 717-975-2235.
