State policymakers are set to gather in Harrisburg to introduce a new initiative aimed at shielding minors from sexually explicit content found in school libraries. The event, which is open to the public, will also shed light on certain books currently available in these educational institutions.

The initiative comes amid concerns that parents who question the content of their children's school libraries face derogatory labels such as "Book Burner" or "Book Banning Enemy of Free Speech." These terms, according to organizers, serve to intimidate and silence concerned parents.

Representatives Tom Jones (R-Lancaster) and Barb Gleim (R-Cumberland), along with other members of the General Assembly including Senator Cris Dush (R-25), will be leading this effort. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 4th at 10 a.m., taking place in the lobby of the Ryan Office Building within the Capitol Complex.

For those unable to attend in person, a live webstreaming option will be available, pending any technical issues.
