Rep. Barb Gleim is organizing a Concealed Carry Seminar for local residents on April 11 at the Newville Fairgrounds, located at 433 Shippensburg Road in Newville. The event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
"This is a great opportunity to learn about Pennsylvania firearm laws and ask questions of the experts," stated Gleim. "I encourage anyone who owns a firearm or is thinking of purchasing one to attend."
The seminar will include a presentation by Firearm Owners Against Crime, focusing on Pennsylvania's concealed firearm laws. Additionally, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office will be present to process concealed carry applications for residents of Cumberland County.
Applicants from Cumberland County are required to bring cash, check, or money orders amounting to $20 along with a completed paper application and a driver's license with their current address or change of address card.
For those residing in other counties, the sheriff's office can assist with online applications during the event; however, they will need a credit card to cover the $25 fee ($20 application and $5 processing fee).
To facilitate planning, attendees are requested to RSVP by April 5 either online or by calling 717-249-1990.
