The office of Representative Thomas Kutz is collaborating with several organizations to host a workshop aimed at raising awareness about human trafficking and educating parents and caregivers on internet safety for children in the 87th District. The event, titled "Where Does Human Trafficking Start?" will take place on June 10 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Upper Allen Township building in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

"In today’s digital age, predators connect online to facilitate trafficking," stated Kutz. He emphasized that the workshop would explore how human trafficking intersects with technology and discuss topics such as unsafe apps and parental controls. "I hope many parents and caregivers take advantage of this opportunity to learn how to protect their children and loved ones from falling victim to human trafficking," he added.

The workshop will address sensitive subjects including online safety, sexual abuse, and human trafficking, which may not be suitable for all audiences. Kutz's office will provide state-related literature and resources during the event for those interested.

The initiative involves partnerships with YWCA Carlisle and Cumberland County, Upper Allen Township, Upper Allen Woman’s Club, Greenlight Operation, She’s Somebody’s Daughter, and Peace Promise.
