Rep. Thomas Kutz of Cumberland has announced that six schools within the 87th District have been awarded grants by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s School Safety and Security Committee (SSSC). These funds aim to enhance school safety measures and mental health support, contributing to the education quality for students in Cumberland County.

"Ensuring the safety and well-being of students, administrators, faculty and staff at our local schools is absolutely critical," stated Kutz. "These awards will help update facilities to meet those goals. I’m happy to see these grant dollars, which will have a direct benefit to our students, be awarded in the community."

The school districts receiving these grants include Carlisle Area School District with $195,904, Cumberland Perry Area Career and Technical School with $70,000, Cumberland Valley School District with $285,395, Mechanicsburg Area School District with $185,568, South Middleton School District with $141,384, and West Shore School District with $240,257.

For further information regarding these grants, inquiries can be directed to Representative Kutz's office at 717-975-2235.
