HARRISBURG – The office of Rep. Thomas Kutz (R-Cumberland) is collaborating with YWCA Carlisle and Cumberland County, Upper Allen Township, Upper Allen Woman’s Club, Greenlight Operation, She’s Somebody’s Daughter, and Peace Promise to host a workshop titled “Where Does Human Trafficking Start?” This event aims to raise awareness about human trafficking and educate parents and caregivers in the 87th District on internet safety for children.

“In today’s digital age, predators connect online to facilitate trafficking,” said Kutz. “This workshop and its speakers will explore how human trafficking intersects with the internet and technology. It will also cover unsafe apps, parental controls and more."

“I hope many parents and caregivers take advantage of this opportunity to learn how to protect their children and loved ones from falling victim to human trafficking,” concluded Kutz.

The community workshop is scheduled for Monday, June 10, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Upper Allen Township building located at 100 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Representatives from Kutz’s office will be present during the event with state-related literature and resources for attendees.

The workshop will address sensitive topics such as online safety, sexual abuse, and human trafficking which may not be suitable for all audiences.

Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP online.
