Census Bureau: 3.9% of people in Cumberland County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 257,333 citizens living in Cumberland County in 2021, 96.1% said they were only one race, while 3.9% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Cumberland County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 85.9% or 221,002 individuals. Following them, Asian accounted for 4.8% and totaled 12,228 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Cumberland County is 0.4% lower than the state average, which stands at 4.3%.
