The Shippensburg University men's outdoor track & field team with limited competition at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invitational hosted by Lynchburg.
The two events held on the track were the 10,000 meters and the 3,000-meter steeplechase. In the 10K, Hayden Hunt won the event with a time of 31:42.56, while Nathan Harding finished fourth in 32:14.97. Both times easily met the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) automatic qualifying standard.
For Harding, the performance marked a new PR of 35 seconds – he ran 32:50.38 at last year's PSAC Championships.
Cole Harris picked up a conference qualifier in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, placing fifth in 10:15.93. It was Harris's seventh collegiate steeplechase and marked a new personal-best time of 15 seconds.
The javelin was the lone field event of the day, and two Raiders placed in the Top 5 with PSAC cuts. Austin Long, in his collegiate debut, placed third on a top throw of 186 feet, 6 inches that came on his first attempt. Nate Crowl was one spot behind in fourth; his best mark was 177 feet, 4 inches.
Competition resumes Saturday morning.
