Three Football Players named to the 2022 Division II Academic All-District ® Team

The Shippensburg University football team had three 2022 Division II Academic All-District ® honorees, an award that recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.
 
Redshirt-sophomore Riley Good is an academic senior who is majoring in economics with a concentration in data science. He maintains a 3.79 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) through the completion of more than 90 credits.
 
Good is Shippensburg's leader in yards lost of tackles for lost (TFL), he missed three games due to illness. He is second among the Raiders this season with 12.5 TFLs that have resulted in 56 yards lost. He ranks among the Top 10 players in the PSAC in TFLs per game. For the season, Good contributed to at least one TFL in 7-of-8 games this season, including 3.5 sacks. Overall, Good has played in 16 games in his career and has 51 tackles, 14.5 TFLs, 4.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble as a defensive lineman.
 
Sophomore Jaxson Montross is an academic junior who is majoring in supply chain management. He maintains a 3.81 GPA through the completion of more than 60 credits.
 
Montross was named to the 2021 All-PSAC Eastern Division First Team kicker as a freshman and was a 2021 D2CCA All-Atlantic Region First Team kicker as a freshman. This season, he converted three field goals with a season-long 44 yards. He was 25-of-29 on point-after-touchdowns (PATs) and was third on the team in scoring (34 points). He holds the school record with a 50-yard field goal made last season.
 
Redshirt-sophomore Dontae S.A. Slocum is an academic senior who is majoring in finance with a concentration in personal financial planning. He maintains a 3.54 GPA through the completion of more than 90 credits.
 
Slocum appeared in all 11 games this season as a part of the team's defensive line rotation, including three starts. He contributed to a TFL in four games and made at least one tackle in eight games. Slocum overall has appeared in 22 games and totaled 28 tackles, including 5.5 TFLs, 2.0 sacks and a pass defense.
 
The Academic All-District ® Team is selected by the College Sports Communicators.
 
All three Raiders are now among those eligible for consideration for the Academic All-America ® Team that will be announced Dec. 20.
