Comm Office wins awards, presents at CUPRAP Conference

Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School issued the following announcement on Mar. 28.

The Office of Communications and Marketing was recognized for their contributions to their profession at the statewide College & University Public Relations and Associated Professionals (CUPRAP) professional development conference. At the 15th Annual CUPPIE Awards dinner reception on Thursday, March 17, the office earned Gold and Bronze awards in the Covid-19 Video category for “Live from Luhrs with Noah and the Rubber Band” and the “Cheerleader Vaccination” videos; Silver in the Digital Media Website Redesign category for the “150th Anniversary Celebration” website; and honorable mention in the News Photography category for “Fire Art.”  Ship was recognized from among 333 entries submitted by colleges, universities, agencies, and providers of private, specialized and secondary education. Judges represented experts in the field of communications and included designers, writers, educators, corporate executives, and media professionals.  During the conference, office director Ken Bach joined with Ryan Pudloski, vice president of interactive at JPL Creative, to present a well-received workshop entitled “Improving User and Brand Experience When a New Site is Not in the Budget,” which is currently in development as a national webinar presentation.
