Cost of college went up for all students at Messiah College

Tuition and fees rose 2.9 percent for 2018-19 at Messiah College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Pennsylvania students paid $35,160 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,000 more than the $34,160 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 665 students received grants or scholarships totaling $12.9 million and 480 students took out student loans totaling more than $4.5 million.

Including all undergraduates (3,375), 2,664 students used grants or scholarships totaling $49.1 million, and 1,767 students took out $11.8 million in federal student loans.
