79 percent of applicants to Messiah College were admitted for fall 2018

At Messiah College, 98 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 61 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Mechanicsburg enrolled 3,375 students in fall 2018, including 2,734 in undergraduate and 641 in graduate programs, data shows. 3.5 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

59 percent of undergraduates are residents of Pennsylvania, and 38 percent are residents of other states. 3 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (81 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (5 percent).

The school admitted 79 percent of the 2,530 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 32 percent enrolled.
