Rep. Scott Perry, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 10th district, has recently shared his views on Medicaid and local community engagement through a series of tweets.
On May 13, 2025, Perry highlighted financial concerns regarding Medicaid spending under past administrations. He stated that “Nearly 1.1 TRILLION Taxpayer dollars went to healthy, employable adults for the last ten years because Obama and Biden scuttled eligibility reviews and accountability measures for Medicaid – which is doomed if we don’t change course.” Perry emphasized the need for change to prevent further issues with the program.
Two days later, on May 15, 2025, Perry addressed Medicaid work requirements. He expressed frustration over what he perceives as inadequate legislative action by some of his colleagues. In his tweet, he asserted that “On Medicaid work requirements: Start ’em now. The American People are sick of half measures.” This reflects his stance on immediate implementation of these requirements.
In another post from May 15, Perry thanked the Pennsylvania Restaurant and Lodging Association for their visit and discussion about Central Pennsylvania’s appeal as a tourist destination. He tweeted: “Thanks, Pennsylvania Restaurant and Lodging Association @prlaorg for stopping by to chat – and reminding us of how great a place Central PA is to visit, eat, and stay!”
Scott Perry has been a member of Congress since replacing Todd Platts in 2013 after serving in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2007 to 2012. Born in San Diego in 1962 and residing in Dillsburg, he graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1991.
