Rep. Scott Perry, a U.S. Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 10th district since 2013, has recently used his social media platform to comment on current political disputes and historical commemorations.
On October 11, 2025, Perry criticized Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and the handling of military pay during ongoing government funding negotiations. He wrote: “We want America back. Our Troops deserve their paychecks. Chuck Schumer said: ‘Every day gets better for us.’ I guess that’s Schumer-ese for: ‘I couldn’t care less about the pain we’re inflicting.'”
The following day, on October 12, 2025, Perry accused Democrats of prioritizing benefits for undocumented immigrants over the financial stability of federal employees and military personnel. He stated: “Democrats are playing games with government services, and paychecks for Troops and federal employees – just to give illegals ‘free’ healthcare (you know – the ‘free’ stuff YOU pay for). The House did its job and passed a clean spending bill. Senate Democrats now need to stop”.
On October 13, 2025, Perry marked Columbus Day by praising Christopher Columbus’s impact on American history and Italian-American heritage. He posted: “Christopher Columbus’ 1492 voyage paved the way for the birth of our great Nation and a glorious new chapter for Western Civilization. His courage and vision embodied the pioneer spirit that defines the American spirit. As we honor Columbus, we also honor the legacy of Italian”.
Perry has represented Pennsylvania’s 10th District in Congress since replacing Todd Platts in 2013, after previously serving in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2007 to 2012. Born in San Diego, California in 1962, Perry currently resides in Dillsburg and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University.
