Rep. Scott Perry, a U.S. Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 10th district since 2013, recently addressed several national issues on his social media account, including healthcare policy, military commemoration, and the ongoing government shutdown.
On October 8, 2025, Perry expressed support for Rep. Chip Roy’s stance on healthcare reform. He stated, “My friend @RepChipRoy is exactly right. The American People deserve way better than Obamacare. We either stand for healthcare freedom and against socialized medicine, or we stand for nothing.”
Later that day, Perry attended a dedication ceremony honoring U.S. and coalition forces involved in Operation Gothic Serpent, known as the Battle of Mogadishu and depicted in the film “Black Hawk Down.” He posted on October 8: “Humbled to be in the presence of greatness at the dedication of the monument to all U.S. and coalition forces who fought in and supported Operation Gothic Serpent – better known as the Battle of Mogadishu, and perhaps even better known from the movie, ‘Black Hawk Down.’ It’s in https://t.co/b6NAmgVOzq”
Addressing the government shutdown two days later on October 10, Perry attributed responsibility to Democratic leadership. He wrote: “This shutdown is a crisis of the Democrat Party — their failed policies, and bitterness at POTUS. Simply put: The American People deserve better.”
Perry has represented Pennsylvania’s 10th District since succeeding Todd Platts in 2013. Before joining Congress, he served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2007 to 2012. Born in San Diego in 1962 and currently residing in Dillsburg, Perry graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1991.
