Rep. Scott Perry, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 10th district since 2013, recently shared his views on several issues via social media. His comments touched upon Medicaid, asylum hearings, and a Senate decision.
On May 7, 2025, Perry addressed the topic of Medicaid in a tweet stating: “To be clear: Medicaid is a lifeline for millions of Americans who didn’t choose to be sick or hurt. Sadly, it’s also a money tree for financial leeches who are healthy and shady. If the Left cares so much about preserving Medicaid for the truly needy, why are they silent about”. This tweet highlights his concern over the misuse of Medicaid funds by those he describes as “financial leeches.”
Later that day, Perry expressed his stance on asylum hearings with another tweet at 19:56 UTC: “If you fail to show up for your asylum hearing, that’s your due process. You’ll be deported.” This comment underscores his belief in strict adherence to legal processes concerning immigration.
In another tweet posted at 23:01 UTC on the same day, Perry showed support for a Senate decision without specifying details: “I’m with the Senate on this one.”
Scott Perry was born in San Diego in 1962 and currently resides in Dillsburg. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1991 and has been an active political figure since serving in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2007 to 2012 before joining Congress.
