Rep. Scott Perry, a U.S. Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 10th district since 2013, has shared his views on various national issues through a series of tweets. Perry, who succeeded Todd Platts and previously served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2007 to 2012, has been vocal about his stance on birthright citizenship, education, and foreign policy.
On June 20, 2025, Rep. Perry expressed concerns over birthright citizenship in the United States. He stated that “Crooked judges have twisted our laws to ensure that children of illegal aliens get indefinite citizenship benefits simply by being born on American soil.” Perry highlighted that many Americans believe this practice misinterprets the Constitution and poses a threat to the nation.
Later the same day, Perry addressed educational content in public schools regarding gender and sexuality. He claimed that “Some public schools are indoctrinating our children with obscene ‘lessons’ on gender and sexuality – bordering on pornography.” He mentioned an upcoming Supreme Court decision concerning whether such matters should be taught by parents instead of bureaucrats, referencing the case Mahmoud v. Taylor.
On June 22, 2025, Rep. Perry commented on Iran’s role as a state sponsor of terrorism. He asserted that “Iran is a terrorist state responsible for the deaths of thousands of American Service Members and countless innocent people around the world.” Furthermore, he criticized previous U.S. leaders for allowing Iran’s nuclear program to continue unchecked.
Rep. Scott Perry was born in San Diego in 1962 and currently resides in Dillsburg. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1991.
