Rep. Scott Perry, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 10th district, has been vocal on various issues through his social media presence. He succeeded Todd Platts in 2013 and has a background in both the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and military service.
On June 10, 2025, Rep. Perry expressed his disapproval of federal funding for streetcar projects in certain cities. He stated, “Did you know that the federal government takes your money to build ugly, expensive, and inefficient streetcars – in coastal, elite cities? To stop it, I introduced the ‘No Desire for Streetcars Act’ to strip federal funding from out-of-touch city planners’ pet projects.”
The following day, on June 11, he raised concerns about the financial state of genetic testing company 23andMe. He tweeted “It’s concerning that @23andMe is broke, and selling off sensitive genetic data to the highest bidder.” This comment reflects apprehension regarding privacy and data security issues related to personal genetic information.
Later on June 11, Perry addressed what he perceives as a national security issue involving foreign nationals and their alleged collaboration with domestic groups against American values. His tweet read: “We have an invasion on our hands by rioting foreign nationals and their leftist collaborators who hate everything America stands for… Anyone – especially elected officials – who aid and abet these criminals should be prosecuted.”
Scott Perry was born in San Diego but resides in Dillsburg; he graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1991.
