Rep. Thomas Kutz of Cumberland County has announced the allocation of $9.5 million in grant funding aimed at supporting various projects within the 87th Legislative District. The funding, sourced from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) and the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), is intended to benefit local residents.
“Today’s grant awards are a major win for the residents of Cumberland County,” stated Kutz. “These important projects will create family sustaining jobs, foster economic development and provide much-needed infrastructure improvements in our fast-growing community.”
The grants have been distributed among several municipalities as follows: Upper Allen Township will receive $6.25 million, South Middleton Township is allocated $1.5 million, Silver Spring Township will get $800,000, and Lower Allen Township is set to receive $1 million.
RACP is a state-administered program that funds regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects through design, acquisition, and construction efforts. Including a recent announcement of $3.7 million in statewide Local Share Account grants (LSA) and Public School Facility Improvement Grants (PSFIG), Rep. Kutz has facilitated over $13 million in funding to enhance communities across Cumberland County.
