Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier announced on Apr. 9 that veterans and active-duty military personnel from the 88th Legislative District are invited to attend her annual Tribute to Veterans Breakfast, scheduled for Thursday, April 23 at the First Church of God Community Center in Mechanicsburg.
The event aims to honor local service members and will focus on the theme “Celebrating Our History in Preparation for America250,” marking the upcoming 250th anniversary of American independence.
Delozier said, “My annual Tribute to Veterans Breakfast has always been a treasured tradition – a time to come together as friends and neighbors, and to honor the local heroes who have worn our nation’s uniform.” She added, “This year holds even deeper meaning. It will be my final veterans breakfast, and it coincides with America’s semiquincentennial, a celebration of 250 years of freedom.”
Reflecting on the importance of military service throughout U.S. history, Delozier stated: “From the earliest days of our Republic to today, the Armed Forces have stood as guardians of liberty, shaping the foundation of this great nation. It is a privilege to pay tribute to those who have defended the ideals that make America strong.”
The event will feature Marine Corps veteran Sen. Greg Rothman as guest speaker. Rothman enlisted during Operation Desert Storm and served nearly ten years in the Marine Corps Reserve before being honorably discharged in 2001; he was later appointed by the president of the United States to serve on a national board supporting veteran entrepreneurship.
Lt. Col. Devin Hammond will serve as keynote speaker for this year’s breakfast. Hammond is currently studying at the U.S. Army War College and has held multiple leadership roles since beginning his Army career in 1998—including deployments supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom—and possesses advanced qualifications in acquisition and contract management.
Attendees are asked to RSVP or call 717-761-4665.
