State Representative Barb Gleim is set to host a ceremony dedicated to the memory of Major General Harold “Harry” Greene. The event will take place on Saturday, June 28, at 1 p.m. at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center. This ceremony aims to honor Greene, a 2002 graduate of the United States Army War College in Carlisle, who was killed on August 5, 2014, during an attack at Camp Qargha’s Marshal Fahim National Defense University in Kabul.
During this event, the bridge on Army Heritage Drive crossing Interstate 81 in Middlesex Township, Cumberland County, will be officially named the Major General Harold “Harry” Greene Memorial Bridge.
Gleim will be accompanied by members of Greene’s family and Major General John R. Pippy, Pennsylvania’s adjutant general. Several local elected officials are also expected to attend.
